Honest comparison · 2026

Soniqo vs
Music Concierge.

This is the comparison we take most seriously, because Music Concierge does the same thing we do rather than a cheaper version of it. Founded in 2007, more than sixty people, offices including Shanghai and Dubai, and a client list — Raffles, One&Only, Rosewood, Accor — that speaks for itself. If you are choosing between us, you are choosing between two bespoke agencies, not between a service and a streaming app.

Where they win

Pedigree, scale and reach. Nineteen years, a very large tagged library, and the kind of global luxury references that make a brand committee comfortable.

Where we differ

We mix. The programme is sequenced by key and energy with DJ transitions, and it is run live in the room rather than delivered as playlists.

The line we draw

A worldwide brand programme across continents — theirs. A Gulf property where someone has to answer for tonight — ours.

What you actually buy

Music Concierge

A signature sound. A curated, brand-aligned programme built from a large tagged library and delivered to your venue.

Soniqo

The same idea, run live. A programme that is sequenced, scheduled and adjusted continuously rather than delivered and refreshed.

Sequencing

Music Concierge

Curated playlists — the selection is the craft, and it is genuinely good craft.

Soniqo

Selection plus order. Tracks are arranged on the Camelot wheel by key and energy, with DJ-mixed transitions, so the set moves the way a live set moves.

Who you talk to

Music Concierge

An account and curation team, structured the way a sixty-person agency is structured.

Soniqo

The person who builds your programme, directly, on WhatsApp. That scales badly and we know it — it is also the whole point.

Response time

Music Concierge

Scheduled refresh cycles with requests handled through the account.

Soniqo

Same day for most changes. A track pulled at 9pm is out of rotation before the next service.

Gulf licensing

Music Concierge

A UK-headquartered agency with a Dubai presence; licensing arrangements depend on the market and the contract.

Soniqo

The UAE and Saudi regimes are our home ground. PRO/PPL exposure and the UAE venue licence from 1 December 2026 are handled inside the service.

Live intervention

Music Concierge

Programming is designed ahead and scheduled.

Soniqo

The system reacts. Prayer-time ducking to the minute, a dinner boundary that follows the day's real sunset, per-zone volume adjusted from the phone.

Library

Music Concierge

A very large in-house tagged library, built over nearly two decades and deep in genre coverage.

Soniqo

Smaller and deliberately so — a working DJ's crate, refreshed continuously, with everything vetted against your room before it airs.

Scale

Music Concierge

Global. Multiple offices, hundreds of venues, the operational weight to run a brand programme across continents.

Soniqo

Gulf-focused and small. Every venue we run, we run personally — which is a strength up to a point and a limit past it.

Price

Music Concierge

Agency pricing, quoted per engagement and generally at the top of the market.

Soniqo

$300–$1,200 a month per venue, all in, including the licensing layer.

Common questionsMusic Concierge vs Soniqo

They have been doing this since 2007. Why take a smaller agency?

Their record is real and we would not argue with it. The difference is not experience, it is proximity: our programmes are sequenced like DJ sets rather than assembled as playlists, and the person who built yours is reachable tonight. For a global brand programme across many countries, their weight is worth more than our speed. For a Gulf property, we think it is the other way round.

What does 'DJ-mixed' actually mean here?

Two concrete things. Tracks are ordered by musical key and energy level using the Camelot system, so consecutive songs are harmonically compatible and the energy moves in a designed curve. And the transitions are mixed rather than crossfaded, so the room does not notice a change of song — it notices the evening building.

Is one better for a hotel with many outlets?

It depends where consistency matters most. If the group needs the same sound in Dubai, London and Singapore, an agency with that footprint is the right structure. If the outlets are all in the Gulf and each needs its own character, we are closer to the rooms and faster to change them.

Can we trial both?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to decide. Give each of us a zone for a month with the same brief. Two rooms, same building, same guests — the comparison makes itself and nobody has to take a sales pitch on trust.

Same brief, two rooms

Give us a zone.
Judge it against theirs.

We will programme one room to your brief for a month, no contract. Run it beside whatever else you are considering and let the evening decide.
